OVR Technology

OVR Technology turns to Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing to evolve VR experiences.

Challenge

OVR Technology needed a cost-effective prototyping and low-volume production solution to bring its patented OX1 scent-emitting device to market.

Solution

The company used Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) process, taking advantage of MJF’s mechanical properties and cost advantages to 3D print prototypes as well as low-volume production parts prior to scaling production to other conventional methods.

Outcome

Clinicians used the OX1 in medical applications as the company continues using MJF parts for design innovation and low-volume production. The company was able to get devices into the hands of clinicians sooner than expected, while still making changes to the design, which meant not paying for tooling and then changes to tooling.

Challenge
Whoop needed to quickly produce small, plastic components with challenging geometries for its wearable IoT fitness tracker used by elite amateur and professional athletes.

Solution

Challenge

Support the development of high-tech drones from Nokia, which have specialized connectivity requirements and must adhere to stringent aviation regulations.

Solution

The Nokia team approached for advice and to use our rapid injection molding service. Nineteen different part designs for casing, structural elements, and a gasket were molded in record time.

Outcome

worked with Nokia to identify an appropriate material for the project. Following changes to the design and to the tool itself, we helped ensure material flow in the molding process. Parts were successfully molded and swiftly shipped to the customer.

Science Tech

Challenge
FOAM-iT needed to update two of its flagship products quickly to make them less prone to damage in order to aid in the fight against COVID-19.
Solution
By using our on-demand molding service, FOAM-iT took advantage of our design analysis and easy online ordering, along with a helping hand from in-house manufacturing experts to avoid delays.

Outcome
FOAM-iT’s electric fog/mist disinfectant units are now available with a custom-manufactured nozzle protector, ensuring a long product life. Existing units were offered a retrofit to give improved protection.
